I just saved for myself a $250 Viking service call plus the part which would have been another $100+I was a little concerned about ordering the ignitor as the part number wasn't the same as on the old one, but a quick call to Viking inveterate that the AR040001 is the substitution part for PB040001. And then I called another parts company to double check! This ignitor works with both older and newer Viking Gas Ranges.As I have an older (before 2002) 46" double oven gas range, I looked-for to cut the female end off of one of the cables as the old ignitor had female and male ends and the new one comes with both cable ends the same. Very unadorned to do and I used the terracotta nuts that were provided in the box (yes, those are there for you!).We had the lasagna in the oven in no time. In fact it took longer to loosen everything and put it all back collectively then to exchange the ignitor (30 minutes tops from start to finish).Shipping was fast (ordered the part late Monday nighttime, shipped the same day and was on my step Thursday day. In all fairness, I did upgrade to expedited shipping as the window for delivery was after Thanksgiving and that would not have worked. But I don't believe that the expedited shipping was de rigueur), well padded/confined and I will look to buy all my Viking parts from McCombs.Now off to fix the oven knob stem/temperature control that broke off...

These were a perfect fit in each way for my Viking range. I didn't have to rebuild any connections or do any soldering, at that calculate tops were a correct contest as supplied. Tips for installation on a Viking range: Take out the oven door (no tools required), and flip not working the underside kick-plate by compelling out the two upper screws, one on all side, and rotating the kickplate forward. Take out the racks and hangars, at that calculate take out the "stump" of the oven (no tools required). This will allocate you to get at the connectors and the ignitors. The ignitors are all held on with two screws. The left side screws can be gotten to easily with a stubby phillips screwdriver, but the right side screws are more difficult to get a screwdriver on as they are accurate to the center and even a short stubby scredriver is too long to dodge impacting the sheetmetal. Instead use a 90 degree ratcheting screwdriver be fond of the Craftsman 41716 ($7) from Sears, (or similar) and it's a breeze. I had both ignitors installed start to finish in about 20 summary.

I have purchased the Viking OEM ignitors and this substitution manufactured goods. I bought the replacements to try to save some cash from the cost of the OEM ignitors. It didn't work out so well. The wits is austere: The substitution ignitors are of a much decrease feature than the Vikings. If you have Dual oven burners ... REPLACE BOTH Ignitors at the same time. This information it true of any brand of ignitor. For protection reasons the gas valves that feed your burners will not turn on the gas to that burner except that ignitor draws the assess amperage. So I had one effective burner and one broken one (bad ignitor). I replaced the broken ignitor and it worked...but , being new, it drew more amperage and caused the old effective ignitor to no longer draw enough amperage to open its gas valve... now i need to buy a following ignitor. Conception Viking forums this is the not compulsory practice if you have dual burners.
